Corona Virus
HOW DOES THE CORONA VIRUS TRANSMIT?
The patient can be transmitted by coughing or sneezing by touching the mouth, nose and eyes of other individuals in the environment, and by bringing hands to the mouth, nose or eyes after touching the surfaces where the droplets meet.
CORONA VIRUS SYMPTOMS:
The most common symptoms are fever, cough and respiratory distress.
In severe cases, pneumonia, severe respiratory failure, kidney failure and death may occur.
The incubation period of the new corona virus is 2 to 14 days.
WHO IS HEAVY AFFECTED?
As with seasonal influenza, 2019 nCoV infection tends to be more severe and life-threatening in elderly patients or those with underlying chronic heart disease, lung disease, chronic kidney and liver disease, regardless of age.
HOW TO PROTECT THE CORONA VIRUS?
* Recommendations to reduce the risk of transmission of acute respiratory infections are also valid for new corona virus infections.
* During coughing or sneezing, the mouth and nose should be covered with a disposable tissue, if there is no tissue, the inner part of the elbow should be used.
* Handshake and hug should be avoided.
* Avoid crowded environments as much as possible.
* Mouth, nose and eyes should not be touched with dirty hands.
* Hand hygiene should be given importance. Hands should be washed with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and alcohol-containing hand antiseptic should be used in the absence of soap and water.
* Indoor areas, especially classrooms and workplaces, should be frequently ventilated.
* A balanced and healthy diet should be taken to strengthen the immune system. Food should be thoroughly washed before consumption.
