Sensitization Test

The sensitization test is performed to evaluate the potential to cause a hypersensitivity reaction with single or repeated exposure of medical devices to the body.

The sensitization test is one of the first three tests generally applied in biocompatibility tests. (The other two are in-vitro cytotoxicity and irritation testing). The sensitization test is carried out according to the ISO 10993-10 standard.
